I was honored and proud to attend the National Honor Society induction ceremony at East Ridge High School on Monday morning. My son who is a junior at ERHS was inducted, and was presented with a NHS pin.
The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization and consists of many chapters in high schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada.
NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Selection is based on these four criteria.
NHS requires service to the community, school, or other organizations. It is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities.
